“To reach the sea and be happy
with a jug of water is a waste,
The sea that has pearls,
and a thousand other precious things…”
The above text was the core inspiration for the design of this stunning ring. The brief was for an ocean inspired engagement ring, it was to be delicate and feminine representing a deep love and shared passions.
We worked together on the design, exploring a variety of options and design directions all whilst hunting for the perfect sapphire for the focal point in the design. The final design choice was a pared back simpler design where we would focus on perfectly selected parti colour sapphires in varied tones to subtly suggest the ocean.
Stunning smaller Australian natural parti sapphires were carefully sourced to sit alongside our hero stone, perfectly referencing the cool Tasmanian waters of a significant and treasured location just south of Hobart.
The gemstones were claw set to retain a delicateness in the design and scattered along a wave shaped band mimicking rolling waves along the golden shoreline.
It was an honour to be asked to help create this extremely magical engagement ring - congratulations again.
