Die formed 'Limb' brooch with tourmalines

Die formed fine silver 'Limb' brooch with yellow and rose gold details and natural tourmalines. 

Inspired by the native Australian Salmon Gum (Eucalyptus Salmonophloia). The limbs, branches and surface textures of this species of gum often display a likeness to the human body and gesture. I am intrigued by the naturally occurring folds, creases and wrinkles in the bark and junctions of the tree which I have aimed to recreate within this piece. This was achieved through the technique of die forming.
